Alabama-born country music artist Ella Langley’s song “Choosin’ Texas,” co-written by Miranda Lambert, is competing against Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” for the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter took to social media Thursday to rally fans for a final push toward No. 1, a position currently held by Harry Styles’ “Aperture.”
“Choosin’ Texas,” released on Oct. 17, became just the fourth country song by a female lead artist to top the Billboard Streaming Songs chart in its 13-year history. The track has already topped both the U.S. Spotify chart and the Apple Music U.S. Songs chart. Crafted during a group writing retreat, the song was penned by Langley and Lambert alongside Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor.

“Y’all have put me in a position to do something only a few females in country music history have ever done,” Langley wrote on her Instagram story Thursday morning. “I’m being told we’re neck and neck on getting the #1, and if we have one last push on iTunes, we might make country music history. Less than 10 women in country music have gotten a #1 on Billboard.”
The song is the lead single on Langley’s upcoming sophomore album, “Dandelion,” set for release April 10. She will perform at Austin’s Moody Center on Aug. 13 as part of the 16-date “Dandelion” tour, which spans cities across the United States. Additional Texas stops include Corpus Christi on Aug. 14 and Fort Worth on Aug. 15.
A limited venue presale for Langley’s Moody Center concert began Feb. 5 at noon using the code “DANDELION,” with general ticket sales opening Feb. 6 at 10 a.m.
“I know we can do it,” Langley wrote alongside a photo of herself embracing Lambert. “Let’s do it for women, and let’s do it for country music.”

There are two entrances, on the west and east sides of the building. Guests must pass through metal detectors and bag searches before entry.
At the end of the night, designated rideshare drop-off and pick-up is on Clyde Littlefield Drive. The roads surrounding Moody Center get congested after events, so expect a slow departure from the area, but hot dog vendors are often stationed outside if you’re hungry for a late-night snack.
What is the bag policy at Moody Center? What can I bring?
Moody Center permits clear bags that do not exceed 14″ x 14″ x 6″ or small clutch purses that do not exceed 5″ x 9″ x 1.5″ for their events. The venue prohibits recording equipment apart from smartphones. Smoking and vaping are not allowed on the premises. Find a full list of allowed and prohibited items at moodycenteratx.com.

Inside the Moody Center: Food, drink and seating
There are two levels inside the arena, with entrance portals labeled to identify the section where you’re seated. Upper-level seating is terraced, and Moody Center does permit binoculars. Front-of-stage seating is also available for purchase, but the space is a standing area for some concerts. Premium suites are also available. The venue follows a “no re-entry policy.” Guests who exit the building during an event will not be admitted back inside. However, if you need some air, there is a spacious balcony on the second level.
Inside the complex, you will find a variety of food and beverage options available for purchase from vendors, including pizza slices from Tony C’s, brisket sandwiches from Stubb’s Bar-B-Q, and ice cream cones from Mister Softee. Alcohol is also available for purchase. All transactions at Moody Center are completely cashless, and prices tend to be steep.
