EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 25-year-old woman has been charged with manslaughter after driving the wrong way on Interstate 10 on Tuesday, Feb. 3, resulting in the death of a man, according to the El Paso Police Department.

The Special Traffic Investigations unit arrested 25-year-old Britney Torres and charged her with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. She was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $150,000 bond.

Man dies in wrong-way crash on I-10 West at Mesa

As KTSM previously reported, Torres was traveling the wrong way on I-10 West at Mesa, just before 11 p.m. on Feb. 3.

At the same time, Jesus Chico, 25, was traveling west on I-10 when Torres struck Chico Jr., where he later died.

Torres was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Torres is scheduled to have her bond hearing on Friday, Feb. 5.
