CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man was seriously injured and his dog hurt after being struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex in Beeville, according to the Beeville Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched around 4:51 p.m. to Eagles Landing Apartments for a reported pedestrian collision. While officers were en route, dispatch received an additional call reporting that a woman had been bitten by a dog connected to the incident.
Officers found an adult man who had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the roadway with his pit bull. Police said both the man and the dog were hit by a vehicle exiting the apartment complex.
According to police, the dog became distressed due to injuries sustained in the collision and bit a nearby woman who attempted to help the injured man.
Animal Control responded and safely secured the injured dog.Â
