LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – When we last met with Blaire Elbert in 2024, she was making a name for herself in the country music capital of the world, Nashville.
Now, she’s keeping herself busy in the studio.
“I’ve been doing a lot of songwriting and I have a lot of great songs that I’m so happy to be in the process of recording right now,” Elbert said. “I have a couple up my sleeve so it’s going to be a big year for music for me.”
Elbert’s journey so far has taken her all over the country, playing gigs in Iowa, Montana, Arkansas and even a few shows back here at home in the lone star state. She says doing these shows and traveling has been a great learning experience.
“Every opportunity that I get with music in this step of my career is a big goal for me,” Elbert said. “I’ve been doing music for a long time, but myself as a solo artist, this is my first time for a lot of this stuff.”
But now the whole world is about to watch as Elbert embarks on a new chapter in her career.
She will be a part of this upcoming season of NBC’s ‘The Voice’, where she’ll be performing in the blind auditions for the upcoming season’s coaches including Adam Levine, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson, hoping for all of the chairs to turn.
“This seemed like the perfect time,” Elbert said. “I’ve been doing a lot with my music up until now, so when this door presented itself to me, I was beyond excited.”
Should one coach hit their button, Elbert will move on to the battle stage of the competition. She knows plenty of people from her old stomping grounds will be watching in anticipation.
“I am definitely representing Lubbock during my audition for this season,” Elbert said. “It’s my hometown, it’s where I got my start, it’s where I started my love for music and really gave me this path and led me to where I’m at now.”
‘The Voice: Battle of Champions’ premieres February 23rd at 8:00 p.m. on KCBD. This opportunity has been in the works for quite sometime and now that the time has come, Elbert says she can’t wait to use her voice to showcase her talents to the world.
“I have a countdown for sure for the season premiere and I am so excited for y’all to see what’s going to happen in the season.”
