Police found no suspicious items; school officials say precautionary dismissal and added safety measures were put in place.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Police are investigating a bomb threat reported Friday morning at Premier High School, an incident authorities believe may be part of a larger hoax.
Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department responded at 8:17 a.m. to the school and said that after assessing and securing the campus, police said no suspicious objects had been found.
School officials at the school confirmed students were dismissed for the remainder of the day as a precaution. They also said additional safety measures were taken to ensure the well-being of students and staff.
Investigators believe the threat may not be credible, noting that similar calls were reported at multiple schools across Texas around the same time.
Police remain on scene continuing their investigation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
