HOUSTON – The Houston Volleyball team closes its home October slate as UCF visits Fertitta Center for a 7 p.m., Wednesday, first serve. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
Houston will celebrate Blocktoberfest during the match as well as host its annual student appreciation match. The first 75 students in attendance will receive a free pretzel while the first 100 fans will get a UH bottle opener.

The Cougars’ middle duo of Barakat Rahmon and Kellen Morin sit in fourth and fifth in the Big 12 with 1.28 and 1.27 blocks per set, respectively. Houston is the only Big 12 school with two players with at least 1.25 blocks per set.
Head Coach David Rehr is in his seventh season at the helm of the Cougars. In his time with Houston, he’s posted a 123-71 record, including a 73-38 record in conference play.
The Cougars have a strong record against the current Big 12 landscape, holding a 137-109 record against league foes all-time.
The Cougars’ blocking effort has been a highlight for the team this season. Ranking 20th in the nation with 2.70 blocks per set, Houston’s mark currently sits as the team’s highest since 1998 when the team amassed 3.03 per set. The total is the second most in the Big 12, behind only Arizona State’s 2.86.
Rahmon is fifth in the Big 12 with a .361 hitting percentage.
Senior Lottie Scully ranks third among active Big 12 players with 2,951 assists. She is just 49 assists away from 3,000 in her career.
Senior Bre Reid has posted 938 kills in her career, just 62 away from 1,000. She has the seventh most kills among active players in the Big 12 Conference.
Houston has a long history with UCF. The teams have played annually since 2005 with the exception of the COVID-modified 2020 campaign, with Houston winning 16 of the 30 meetings in that span. The series started in 1997 as the Cougars won the first meeting, 3-0, in a neutral site match in Lexington, Ky.
