Opening up doubles play on Court 1, Senior Dania Deaifi and sophomore Bella Crossman lost in a tight match 4-6 against Amelie Van Impe and Caroline McGinley.

Meanwhile on Court 3, sophomore Peyton Duckett and freshman Amalia Suciu, looked to continue their unbeaten streak as a pair. They came up just short losing their match 3-6.

Over in singles play Crossman put up a great effort against Sophie Llewellyn, who is currently the 46th ranked singles player in ITA. Crossman came up short on Court 2 losing 3-6, 1-6 to open singles play.

Over on Court 6, Duckett fell to Addison Comiskey 1-6, 6-3 before heading over to Court 3 where junior Gala Arangio was rounding up her match.

Arangio lost in straight sets, 3-6, 0-6 before Natalie Stasny of the Mustangs secured Court 5 over Deaifi 7-5, 6-1.

The last two courts were the hardest fought courts for the Lopes by doubles partners sophomore Karina Hofbauer and freshman Hams Metwally.

Hofbauer lost the first set 2-6 before taking over in the second set 7-5. However, she lost in a tiebreaker in the third set 7-10.

Metwally was the solo win for the Lopes today as she faced a strong opponent in Ellie Mireles. Metwally went down 2-6 in the first set before dominating the second set 6-0. She then secured a point for the Lopes winning 6-4 in the last set.

The Lopes will take a break before they head to Auburn, Alabama to take on UAB and Auburn University next weekend.
