The Mavericks announced a major trade on Wednesday involving Anthony Davis, but here’s what the Mavericks will get in return.

DALLAS — Just a year after Anthony Davis was traded to the Mavericks, via perhaps the most controversial trade of all time, he’s leaving town.

This time, Anthony Davis will join the Washington Wizards along with Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum. In return, the Mavericks will receive Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, plus two first-round picks and three second-rounders.

The trade was first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania, who also broke the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade. WFAA confirmed the trade from a high-level Mavs source.

The last time the Mavericks traded an All-Star, it didn’t go down so well with the fans. Davis’ first season in Dallas was hurt by several injuries that kept him off the court. He played 29 games for the Mavericks since he was traded to Dallas and is averaging 20.1 points and 11.1 rebounds in 20 games this season.
