Looks like fans will have to wait until next season to see Anthony Davis make his debut with the Washington Wizards.
The former Mavericks big man is expected to sit out the remainder of this season to get fully healthy for 2026-27, according to a report from NBA insider Chris Haynes of NBA on Prime Video.
Davis, who has been out since he sustained a hand injury Jan. 8 against the Utah Jazz, avoided surgery last month and had a six-week recovery timeline that pointed to a return around the end of February.
Despite the injury, the Mavericks were able to move Davis ahead of the NBA’s trade deadline this week. He was traded to Washington along with Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum in exchange for Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, two first-round and three second-round draft picks.
