The Fort Worth Fire Department is investigating a fatal house fire on Friday night that left one dead, according to a news release from the agency.

The department received multiple calls of a house on fire in the 3800 block of Wilbarger Street, and crews were dispatched at around 8:07 p.m., the release said.

“Firefighters saw heavy fire coming from the front of a one story home and declared a working fire,” the release said.

Fire crews found an individual inside the home and moved the person outside to start medical care immediately, according to the authorities. The victim was declared dead on the scene.

The release said the fire was placed under control at about 8:22 p.m. and no other injuries were reported.

The department’s arson team is looking into the cause of the fire, and the Tarrant County medical examiner’s ffice was called to the scene for their investigation, according to the release.

The identity of the victim was not released. Fire officials confirmed the victim was an adult.
