HOUSTON, Texas (KCBD) – The No. 18 Texas Tech Lady Raiders (22-3, 9-3) are back on a winning streak. Days after upsetting then-No. 12 TCU 62-60, Tech came off of its six-day break with an 85-61 win at Houston- their second win over the Cougars this season.
Senior guard Bailey Maupin had a career night with 25 points, shooting 5-for-9 behind the three-point line, and also led with six rebounds. Jalynn Bristow had 15 points, Gemma Nunez had 13.
The Cougars started the game with a 7-2 lead. The Lady Raiders went up 12-9 late in the first quarter after Bristow hit a three-pointer. From there, they never looked back.
Throughout the contest, Tech forced 32 turnovers from Houston, which lead to 40 of their 85 points. They also had nine blocks, compared to just one from the Cougars.
The Lady Raiders will try to make it three-in-a-row Tuesday night when they host the Kansas Jayhawks. Tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
