Houston’s Super Bowl Sunday kicks off with fog

  • February 8, 2026

Today’s Forecast:

Happening NOW: We’re tracking a dense fog advisory until 9 am. Make sure you use your low-beams and take it slow on the roadways. Did you know driving through fog when visibility is a quarter mile or less is like driving through a solid cloud on an open freeway going 60 mph

We’re starting your morning off temperature wise just like yesterday – in the 40s and 50s. Sunday afternoon and evening we rebound back to beautiful! Anyone getting together for Super Bowl Sunday. Temperatures will hit the mid-70s with a bit of a breeze shifting from the south and southeast. Humidity may start to creep up a touch later in the day, but there’s no threat of rain to spoil those get-togethers.

Perfect weatherI was reading over USDA Super Bowl guidelines before bed last night so you don’t have to, I thought this was a solid safety nugget: Considering 121 million Americans plan to host or attend a Super Bowl party tonight. Make sure your pizza, burgers and chili aren’t left out more than 2 hours.Super Bowl Forecast (Copyright 2025 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)Tracking rain and storms Tuesday:

After the streak of sun and mild air, things are expected to turn much wetter starting Tuesday. An upper-level low moves in, with rain and possible lightning developing over the area. Showers are forecast to begin in the early afternoon, with the potential for some heavier downpours or even thunderstorms, especially north of Houston.

Rain could linger into Wednesday morning. Keep checking back as Tuesday approaches for the latest details and updated rainfall amounts.

Did you know that Super Bowl Sunday is the second-largest food consumption day this year. According to the National Chicken Council, Americans are expected to eat 1.48 BILLION chicken wings this weekend. And if you’re looking to get some extra steps in at Memorial Park, to work off all your Super Bowl Snacks, here are your HIGHS: NOTE, Tuesday is in yellow because we are tracking rain and thunderstorms.Houston Highs (Copyright 2025 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)
Your Extended Forecast:

While the main focus is on a gorgeous weekend and those Tuesday storms, the extended forecast holds more activity. Temperatures are forecast to near 80 degrees mid-next week before another system possibly moves in by Friday and could linger into Valentine’s Day. Exact impacts are uncertain, but more rain chances could be on the horizon. President’s Day is also on the 10-day forecast, so stay tuned for updates as the week progresses.
