A man accused of shooting the driver of an armored car outside a Chase Bank location in Balch Springs was arrested in Fort Worth and has been charged with a federal crime, U.S. attorneys said.
Laroyce Antoine Lambert is charged with one count of attempted interference of commerce by robbery, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney for North Texas Ryan Raybould’s office.
Lambert is accused of attempting to rob an armored car while the security guard was servicing an ATM at a Chase Bank on Lake June Road in Balch Springs, officials said. According to court documents, Lambert approached the guard while pointing a gun and demanded access to the money inside the ATM.
When the guard informed Lambert he could not access the money inside the machine, Lambert shot the guard three times and ran, officials said. Footage from the guard’s body-worn camera shows Lambert with the firearm pointed at the guard, according to court documents.
The guard was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Officers with the Balch Springs Police Department obtained video of Lambert fleeing the scene in a Dodge Charger, officials said.
