LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Alamo Drafthouse in Lubbock closed Sunday. Final showtimes were Saturday. A note on the front door tells patrons who have tickets to future showtimes that their money will be refunded.
Triple Tap Ventures, based in Houston, owned and operated several Alamo Drafthouse locations in Lubbock, El Paso and Houston. All of those locations are now closed.
Plans for the former Alamo Drafthouse location in Lubbock have not yet been announced. KCBD has contacted Triple Tap Ventures for comment.
The theater in Lubbock opened in 2014 with eight screens and nearly 900 seats.
After the closure of Cinemark Movies 16 in February of 2025, and now Alamo Drafthouse, Lubbock now has two operating indoor movie theaters: Cinemark’s Tinseltown USA (17 screens) and Premiere Cinemas (16 screens) at the South Plains Mall.
