A man Dallas police publicly sought in January in connection with the killing of Legendary Ink owner Just Smith-Gibbs has been arrested and charged with capital murder.

Kenneth Wayne Brown Jr., 24, was booked into the Dallas County Jail on February 6 and charged with capital murder, according to arrest information reported by FOX 4.

The Dallas Express previously reported on the January homicide, which occurred outside Legendary Ink in Oak Cliff. At the time, police said the suspect had fled and no arrest had been made.

Later in January, the Dallas Police Department issued a public notice asking for help locating Brown, identifying him as a suspect in a murder investigation tied to the 2900 block of East 11th Street and referencing case number 002884-2026.

Court records indicate Brown now faces a capital murder charge tied to the case. He is also charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon, with bond set at $10,000 for that offense. Brown remains in custody at the Dallas County Jail.
