EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Police and Crime Stoppers of El Paso want your help in providing information to help solve a murder of a local musician back in 2019 in West El Paso.

This is this week’s “Crime of the Week,” as publicized by Crime Stoppers.

As he waited for a streetcar to go home, 63-year-old Chet Woodward was fatally stabbed on the night of Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019. He had just left the Rockin’ Cigar Bar, and moments later, at about 10:45 p.m., police responded to a call of an unconscious man.

Woodward was found stabbed and was taken to the hospital, but died from his injuries.

Detectives located video of a man wearing a dark Levi’s hooded jacket. This man is believed to have crucial information on the murder, Crime Stoppers said.

Woodward was a blues musician who frequented the Cincinnati Bar District and was well-known by many patrons.
