GILLESPIE COUNTY, Texas — Several resources from Gillespie County are in the process of working a brush fire near the Gillespie County and Blanco County line Sunday afternoon.
The fire first began at around 12:30 p.m., and was said to be between 80 and 90 acres as of 4:45 p.m. The fire occurred around the 5000 Block of Althaus Davis Road.
Multiple fire agencies from around Central Texas are responding to extinguish the brushfire. Additionally, Travis County STAR1 conducted water drops to assist from the air. Other agencies responding included Willow City Volunteer Fire Department, Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department, Doss Volunteer Fire Department, Harper Volunteer Fire Department, and Fredericksburg Fire EMS.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but no structures have been impacted and there are no injuries.

Airdrop operations concluded for the evening by 5:30 p.m., and some Gillespie County fire resources were cleared from the scene after completing burnout operations at around 5 p.m. Additional mop up and hotspot treatment is expected to continue.
