The former Skillman library, a 13,200-square-foot red-brick building tucked between apartment complexes near The Village, opened in July 1996.

Dallas residents approved the project in a 1978 bond, and the land was bought in 1982, but the groundbreaking was delayed for almost a decade, according to a 1996 article in The Dallas Morning News.

The auction, hosted by Hudson & Marshall, is open to the public. Bidding registration begins one hour before the auction.
