True Texas BBQ brings brisket and more to Bastrop H-E-B

The smell of smoked brisket is now a part of Bastrop shoppers’ weekly grocery run after True Texas BBQ opened inside H-E-B.

The True Texas BBQ location, which smokes all-natural meats in-house over Texas oak wood, opened as part of an ongoing $30 million expansion in Bastrop—a project that kicked off in July 2023.

The True Texas BBQ menu features a variety of meats by the pound, sandwiches, desserts and sides, including:

H-E-B opened its first True Texas BBQ in 2014 and now operates more than 30 locations across the state. Diners can visit the Bastrop location from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to True Texas BBQ’s website.
