National Weather Service’s offering severe storm spotting class to the public

GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas (KXII) – The National Weather Service is offering its SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training Class to the public in Grayson County on Tuesday.

The event will be hosted by the NWS office of Fort Worth and will be located in Denison at the Grayson College Center for Workplace Learning Auditorium.

The class is expected to begin at 6 p.m. and will feature officials from the NWS as well as from local public safety agencies.

The SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training Class is free to attend and will aim to educate those who join on spotting severe weather threats and understanding them.

According to the NWS Fort Worth Office, the class is part of their annual severe weather preparedness campaign and is one of several weather training programs the office has scheduled around the region from January to March of 2026.
