The San Antonio Police Department is investigating after what might be human remains were found near a popular Southeast Side park.
A person called 911 at 12:15 p.m. Saturday to report that they found what appeared to be a human skull in the 3300 block of Pecan Valley, near South Side Lions Park, according to a preliminary police report.
Officers who responded to the scene did not find any additional remains. Investigations have not determined how the remains came to rest there.

If the remains are determined to be human, the Bexar County Medical Examiner will identify the person and determine their cause and manner of death.
The police investigation is ongoing.
