The Crayola Experience in Plano was closed on Monday at The Shops at Willow Bend amid challenges at the mall and speculation about the Dallas Stars considering the site.
The crayon-themed event center for kids who love to color had lockout notices on its doors that said the landlord, Centennial Waterfall Willow Bend, had changed the locks on Feb. 7.
“Provided tenant pays the entire amount of delinquent rent, a new key to the premises may be obtained,” the lockout notice said.

The Crayola Experience wasn’t open and had a lockout notice on Monday.

The move comes amid challenges at the retail hub as speculation surrounds the Dallas Stars eyeing a move to the site of a Plano shopping mall. After Neiman Marcus said it would leave the shopping center, Dillard’s revealed late last year that it was shuttering its store there and is now closed.
