A Corpus Christi man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter after allegedly killing a motorcyclist in an accident on Sunday evening, according to the CCPD.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter after allegedly killing a motorcyclist on Sunday evening near the intersection of Nile Drive and Ennis Joslin Road, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department. 

CCPD Public Information Officer Antonio Contreras told 3NEWS on Monday that Jamal Karim Baghezza failed to yield the right of way to the rider of the motorcycle, causing the accident. 

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Contreras said an investigation determined Baghezza was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. 

He is being held at the Nueces County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
