LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock Monterey chapter of AMBUCS donated $58,500 to the Texas Tech Health Sciences School of Health Professionals to fund scholarships for aspiring health professionals.
The money will support students pursuing degrees in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, audiology and athletic training.
The funding was raised through AMBUCS’ annual Summerfest event. The Lubbock Monterey chapter has donated more than $1 million to Texas Tech over the past 65 years.
The organization also raises money to donate therapeutic AmTrykes to children, adults and veterans with disabilities across the South Plains for free.
