Dallas International’s girls swimming team came just short of a state title at the TAPPS Division III state swimming championships, finishing second behind Austin Veritas in the team standings with an overall team score of 192.
Marley Taylor and Katherine Smith led the way for Dallas International, as Taylor finished first in the 50 freestyle (25.47) and Smith won the 500 freestyle (5:07.23). Smith, Taylor, Sofia Dobysh and Miki Gill also put together a championship-level performance in the 400 freestyle relay, finishing in first with a time of 3:58.04.
Nastia Huddleston, Plano Coram Deo’s Nastia Huddleston also stood out, winning the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:14.53.
