OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) — Expand Energy, formerly known as Chesapeake Energy, has announced plans to move its corporate headquarters to Houston, Texas.
The company has long been operating out of Oklahoma City, employing many in the area. Officials said the relocation is expected to take place later this year following the departure of CEO Domenic Dell’Osso, Jr.
“I am grateful that homegrown companies like Expand Energy have pledged to keep a significant workforce and operational presence in Oklahoma. We must continue to get government out of the way and make Oklahoma the best place for business,” Stitt said. “With smart adjustments, we can be more competitive at every stage of business – from founders and innovators to the headquarters of major industries.”
Governor Kevin Stitt responded to the company’s transition.
The move comes a week after Devon Energy announced they would also be moving their headquarters to Houston following a merger with Corterra Energy.
