Police say a driver hit a person early Tuesday morning along 10500 South Interstate 35 near Onion Creek.

AUSTIN, Texas — Police are responding to a deadly crash involving a pedestrian early Tuesday morning in South Austin. 

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the collision happened sometime around 4:20 a.m. along 10500 South Interstate 35, not far from exit ramp 225 and Onion Creek. 

According to initial information, responders said the driver of a vehicle hit a pedestrian. It’s unclear what led up to the crash or how many people were inside the vehicle. 

Two of the southbound lanes of the roadway are closed as of 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and it’s uncertain when they will reopen.
