Inside a pedestrian underpass near the newly opened Wishbone Bridge, artists are transforming a tunnel into a vivid public artwork meant to reflect everyday life in Austin. The Unity Tunnel stretches 150 feet beneath South Pleasant Valley Road, connecting Roy G. Guerrero Colorado River Metropolitan Park to the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.

The installation features a floor-to-ceiling tile mosaic paired with painted murals on both sides of the tunnel.

The project was created by Reginald C. Adams, a Houston-based public art and design firm known for installations in historic and underserved communities across the country.
