Senior Activity Center
A part of Leander’s 2016 bond package, the newly opened space is designed for residents age 55 and older. The activity center offers opportunities to attend creative workshops, classes, group programs, social gatherings and participate in fitness activities, as well as amenities such as cardio equipment, a covered patio, a game room, an open courtyard, trails, strength equipment, internet and more.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers
The fast-casual chain opened a Leander location in January, serving chicken fingers, fries, sandwiches, shakes and more. Chicken is served with a variety of sauce options, including the business’s signature Layne’s Sauce. Layne’s also offers family meals and catering.
Estância Brazilian Steakhouse
The restaurant offers a traditional Brazilian-style dining experience featuring premium meats carved tableside, along with gourmet side dishes, an expansive salad bar, handcrafted cocktails and a curated wine list, according to its website. The Leander location is the restaurant’s second local outpost—the first operates within The Arboretum on Research Boulevard in Austin.

Game On Bar & Grill
The new sports bar will feature a 16-by-9-foot LED TV that will show a variety of sports games, including football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis and cricket. Patrons may choose from 44 different draft beers, the majority of which will be from Texas breweries, said Brian Felicella, the business’s general manager, chef and consultant. The classic American grill will serve smash burgers and wings as well as loaded fries and nachos.
Lioness Books
The Williamson County-based mobile bookstore is slated to open a brick-and-mortar in Old Town Leander, said owner Sarah Ambrus. The new Leander location was initially set to open by the end of 2025; however, the storefront is now expected to serve readers by the end of March, Ambrus said.
Monkey Sports
Monkey Sports will bring sports gear, apparel, shoes and accessories to The Crossover, with a planned opening in late spring or early summer, according to marketing manager Tony Yourell. Owned by John Naaman, the sporting goods retailer will offer equipment for hockey, soccer, baseball and lacrosse, with selections for men, women and youth. The store may also include pickleball items and trading cards.
Strong Sprouts
A new indoor gym and playground for children is headed to The Crossover later this year, according to co-owner David Fiori. Strong Sprouts is a family-owned and operated business offering a gym and indoor playground that will feature an event space, rooms for homeschooling, age-based gym classes, organized and free play.
Tacodeli
The Austin-based taco joint has plans for another location along San Gabriel Parkway in Leander, Jordin Lineback, marketing manager for Tacodeli, confirmed. The new restaurant will be part of the Northline project. The concept is known for its breakfast tacos, lunch and dinner tacos, salads, bowls, soups and chips. The restaurants serve margaritas, ranch water, lemonade, almond horchata, agua fresca and coffee.

Construction on the 29,000-square-foot location is expected to begin in March. The new indoor trampoline park is slated to open in late 2026 or early 2027, according to a representative from Sky Zone. Features of the new space will also include a cafe and kitchen area, private event spaces, lounge areas and office space.

Construction on the burger and shake chain is expected to begin later this year, wrapping up in early 2027. The menu is stacked with burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken bites, hot dogs, fries and shakes. The chain restaurant also has several seasonal dessert options to choose from, including specialty shakes made with cane sugar and cage-free eggs.
Juiced Fuel Austin
The company brings fuel to the dock, driveway or job site to eliminate trips to the fuel pump or having to transport containers of gasoline. When the Austin service area is launched, customers can set appointments to have their vehicles or boats fueled at their convenience through the company’s website or app.

Crunch Fitness
According to an update from the city of Leander, the gym has registered a new 40,000-square-foot location across from H-E-B at Hero Way and US 183. The fitness center offers cardio, weights, group classes and personal training.

Spec’s Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods
The national liquor store has proposed a new location along Hero Way, slated to finish construction in April, according to a TDLR filing. The Leander storefront will sell a selection of wine, liqueurs, cocktail mixers and ingredients, spirits, beer, seltzers, ciders and THC-infused drinks, as well as an assortment of cheese, meats, chips, nuts and condiments.
Relocations
Leander Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center
The city’s chamber and visitor center relocated to a new address within Old Town Leander, officially moving to the new office in early January. The organization aims to promote member businesses, foster economic growth, attract tourism and target workforce development.
Closings
The Williamson County Bagel Company
The handmade bagel shop has permanently closed. The family-owned storefront opened in August 2024 near the border of Cedar Park and Leander. It offered hand-rolled, boiled and baked-in-house bagels every day.

PopStroke
Mini-golf company PopStroke has announced plans to open a second Austin-area location in Cedar Park. The $5.8 million venture is anticipated to open in April, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Cedar Park community members can expect to find two 18-hole mini-golf courses, a full-service scratch kitchen restaurant and an ice cream parlor. The venue will include indoor and outdoor restaurant seating, three bars, an outdoor beer garden, yard games and a fully enclosed soft-surface playground.
