EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — It’s official! Both Alamo Drafthouse movie theaters in El Paso will be transformed into Flix Brewhouses, continuing to offer the “dine-in cinema” experience.
Flix Brewhouse, a movie theater/brewery founded in Texas, announced Tuesday that both Alamo Drafthouse locations, the one on Montecillo Boulevard in West El Paso and the one on Pellicano Drive and Joe Battle Boulevard in Far East El Paso, will now become Flix Brewhouses.
The move comes after the company said it is expanding nationwide, growing from 11 to 15 locations, with El Paso the only city in the country with three Flix Brewhouse theaters.
“This acquisition is a natural extension of who we are and what we believe in,” said Chance Robertson, Chief Executive Officer of Flix Brewhouse. “Cinema success today means creating better experiences. We’re grateful to the entire Triple Tap team [the Alamo Drafthouse’s franchise partner] for their work in cultivating these moviegoing communities, and we’re honored to carry that legacy forward.”

On Monday, the Alamo Drafthouse announced that Triple Tap Ventures had ceased operations at four Texas locations, including those in West and Far East El Paso.
Houston-based Triple Tap Ventures CEO Neil Billingsley-Michaelsen said, “When our company decided to focus on other hospitality concepts, it was mandatory to ensure our audiences had a seamless transition to a dine-in concept that shared our core values of compelling programming, continuous innovation, genuine hospitality, and operational excellence. After evaluating numerous alternatives, it was clear that the guest first culture of Flix Brewhouse truly stood out. We’re profoundly grateful for the loyalty of all our Alamo guests and confident they are in good hands with Flix.”
After shuttering, in a statement, the Alamo Drafthouse expressed gratitude to employees and customers for their support and hope to return to the community in the future, adding that all ticket purchases will be automatically refunded and that season pass subscriptions will be canceled with refunds.
Similar to the Alamo, Flix Brewhouse offers moviegoers food and drinks.

The other two Alamo Drafthouses in Texas that will also be transformed into Flix Brewhouses are located in Katy and Lubbock.
The first El Paso Flix Brewhouse is located at the West Towne Marketplace in the Northwest.
