Austin, Texas— Austin’s wellness scene is heating up in a whole new way!
Bathe, the city’s first bathhouse and social spa blending sauna, cold plunge, mineral soaking, coworking, and curated wellness events, is expanding its footprint — and its impact — with two powerful new offerings designed to elevate both the nervous system and the community experience.
Sierra Waggoner sat down with Brooke Blodgett, Director of Marketing & Partnerships, and Danyl Magick, Co-Founder, to talk about what’s next for the growing wellness destination and how Bathe is redefining the social spa experience in Austin.

At the center of the expansion is a brand-new 45-person communal event sauna built for ritual, connection, and release. The large-scale sauna experience shifts the focus from solitary relaxation to shared transformation, creating space for guided heat experiences, music-infused rituals, and collective restoration.

“It’s really about the shared experience in heat. Imagine a beautifully designed sauna with incredible lighting, where you bring in live performances, music, sound, and premium breathwork. It becomes something entirely different. It’s not just about sitting in a sauna — it’s about experiencing it together,” said Magick.

“We created an intimate infrared yoga and Pilates studio designed for around 20 guests. Bathe is a 13,000-square-foot space, so it was important for us to carve out smaller environments where guests can have a more personal and intentional experience,” said Blodgett. Courtesy: BATHE
For Magick, that communal element is central to Bathe’s philosophy.

“I really believe community is healing. In traditional spas, you’re often in your own space. At Bathe, you’re with people who are there for a shared reason. There’s something powerful about experiencing it together,” said Magick.
Alongside the event sauna, Bathe is also unveiling an intimate infrared yoga and Pilates studio designed for around 20 guests per class. The space offers a smaller, more intentional setting within Bathe’s expansive 13,000-square-foot facility.

Blodgett says the infrared technology offers a distinct type of reset.
“Infrared works differently because it penetrates deeper into the body. It supports circulation and helps bring impurities to the surface, allowing the body to release what it’s working through. It creates a deeper, more restorative experience,” said Blodgett.

“It’s essentially everything we love about Austin culture gathering in one place at Bathe to kick off South by Southwest. It’s an opportunity to begin your SXSW experience intentionally — in a way you may never have before. We’re incredibly excited about it,” said Blodgett.
Blodgett says the goal is to create something lasting.

“We want this to become an annual, signature experience that shifts how people view the South by Southwest conference — starting it from a place of connection, energy, and intention,” said Blodgett.
As SXSW continues to evolve beyond music and tech into a broader cultural moment, Bathe hopes to set a new tone for the festival — one rooted in wellness, community, and shared experience!
Bathe, located in the heart of Austin, offers a unique combination of heat, cold, movement, and mindfulness in a social spa environment designed for both restoration and connection. Guests can explore saunas, cold plunges, mineral soaking, coworking spaces, and curated wellness events all under one roof!
