Rockport-Fulton wrestlers closed out their season Friday at the Region IV-5A meet in Corpus Christi.
At 170 pounds, Rockport-Fulton’s Camila Rojas battled through an extended day on the mat to place fifth overall. Rojas opened with a first-round loss to Roma’s Cielo Hernandez before stringing together four consecutive wins in the consolation bracket, all by fall, to stay alive.
Rojas’ run ended with a loss in the consolation semifinals to San Antonio Lanier’s Anelsy Guzman, but Rojas rebounded to earn a fall in the fifth-place match against Corpus Christi Moody’s Kyrstina Meza.
On the boys side, heavyweight Jason Garcia competed at 285 pounds. Garcia fell in the championship opener to Mission Sharyland’s Oscar Casso before dropping a consolation-round match to San Antonio Veterans Memorial’s Adrian Ruiz.
