AUSTIN, Texas — A motorcycle crash on Sunday evening resulted in the death of 20-year-old Javan O Jackson, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
On February 8, 2026, at approximately 8:11 p.m., a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety was pursuing a motorcycle traveling eastbound on E HWY 290. The pursuit was terminated after the trooper lost sight of the motorcycle. Shortly thereafter, it was discovered that the motorcycle had crashed at the intersection of E Parmer Ln and Old HWY 20. The rider, identified as Javan O Jackson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident marks Austin’s ninth fatal crash of 2026, resulting in nine fatalities. On the same date in 2025, there were five fatal crashes with five deaths.
