EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A woman was arrested in connection with a deadly pedestrian crash in the Lower Valley on Saturday.
Officers arrested 62-year-old Aurora Morales.
The Special Traffic Investigations Unit responded to the incident on the 7800 block of North Loop in El Paso.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Ana Maria Paniagua, a 57-year-old El Paso resident, offered to drive 62-year-old Aurora Morales home.
As Morales was changing seats, the 1999 Ford F350 began to roll backward, striking Paniagua.
She was transported to the hospital, where she died.
The DWI Task Force was called to assist with the investigation.
Morales was charged with intoxication manslaughter.
This marks the seventh traffic fatality in El Paso this year, compared to six at the same time last year. The investigation is ongoing.
