After a warm and sunny weekend, North Texas will see a few chances of rain this week.

Temperatures will be in the low 80s on Monday, Feb. 9, with sunny skies overheard, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Similar conditions are in store for Tuesday, Feb. 10.

An upper-level disturbance will arrive and move east across the region throughout Tuesday. A cold front will also move through the region Tuesday, but temperatures are expected to only drop a few degrees.

Light showers are expected in Dallas-Fort Worth late Tuesday and will exit the Metroplex by Wednesday, Feb. 11. Rainfall amounts will likely be less than a tenth of an inch, according to the NWS.

Temperatures will be in the low 70s Wednesday, and increase back into the low 80s on Thursday, Feb. 12.

Rain returns this weekend

Heading into Friday, Feb. 13, a cold front and an upper-level storm system will arrive in North Texas.

There’s a 40% chance of rain during the day and 60% Friday evening, per the NWS. Rain will stick around into Saturday, Feb. 14, with a 50% chance during the day and 20% that evening.

The severe weather threat is currently uncertain, according to the NWS. In the coming days leading up to the event, more information will be available on what to expect.
