Houston looks for some spotty showers Wednesday morning, storms likely on Valentine’s Day

  • February 11, 2026

Tracking the rain:

A few showers from time to time will be there for your morning drive, however, fog will be very spotty as temperatures should hold in the 60s and upper 50s.

Houston’s fog season runs strong from November through March, so your weather team is watching dew points closely. The closer the dew point gets to the actual air temperature, the higher the risk for thick fog to develop quickly.

Warm, spring-like afternoons continue:

We’re tracking above-average temperatures this week, but not record-breaking. But I must admit that it feels more like early spring than mid-February, doesn’t it?

If you’ve been surprisingly parched lately, the warmer winter days might be the culprit. According to the Mayo Clinic, even when temperatures climb above average but stay short of breaking records, dehydration can sneak up on you, faster than in the summer. Because we often underestimate these mild warm-ups and forget to hydrate proactively. So it’s important to Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate even on warm yet cloudy days.

Your Extended Forecast:

Looking ahead, a second system moves into the area on Saturday, with the potential to bring stronger thunderstorms.

While it’s too early for details, this one looks stronger. You’ll also notice there is no cold weather in this 10-day forecast. The Presidents Day holiday is dry and mild.
