AUSTIN, Texas – A group of talented art students from San Saba High School (SSHS) recently made the trip to Austin last Friday to compete in the prestigious Rodeo Austin Youth Art Show, one of the region’s premier competitions for young artists.
The SSHS team submitted 12 entries into the event, which drew hundreds of submissions from students across Texas in categories including traditional, photography, digital, and sculpture/3D art.
SSHS students spent the day in Austin and attended the show held at the Palmer Events Center. Their hard work paid off as two SSHS artists earned notable recognition.
Angel Reyes secured 13th place, while Sariah Plata placed 17th. Both students’ pieces were selected for the silent auction, allowing them to have their artwork bid on and potentially sold to support their future endeavors.
