A man and woman have been hospitalized out of concern of smoke exposure after firefighters said the two were rescued from a house fire in Northwest Dallas.

As Dallas Fire-Rescue crews arrived at a home in the 3100 block of Modella Avenue, about 8:52 p.m., they saw heavy flames coming from the front of the house, according to a news release.

Initial reports informed firefighters that two people were possibly trapped in the house. Evans said a man and woman were rescued from the home and taken to a local hospital after smoke exposure.

According to Evans, the woman was reported to be in stable condition.

The man was critical, and CPR was performed as he was taken to the hospital, according to Evans. His condition was unknown as of Tuesday night.
