KATY, Texas – Two toddlers were flown to a hospital after their family found them drowning at their Katy home on Wednesday, according to Harris County authorities.

What we know:

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says two baby girls nearly drowned at a home on Creek Edge Court, near Morton and Mason Roads, close to Grand Parkway.

Authorities at the scene said calls started coming in at about 11:30 a.m. Deputies came to the home and found paramedics performing life-saving measures on the girls.

Both were taken to a hospital via LifeFlight. Officials said medical staff were still working to help the girls.

The two and three-year-old girls reportedly live at the home with their mother and grandparents. Their grandmother had just come home from running errands and found the girls in the pool.

The grandmother screamed, prompting the toddlers’ mother, the grandfather, and two neighbors to come rescue the girls.

What we don’t know:

The children’s current conditions are not clear at this time.
