Two Kroger locations in the greater Houston area will be closing this April, the supermarket chain confirmed.

The Heights location at 239 W. 20th St. and the Klein Crossing location at 6060 FM 2920 Rd. in Spring will both have their last days on April 10.

“While we are leaving these locations, we will offer each impacted associate the opportunity to transfer to a new location. This closure is part of a larger company-wide decision to run more efficiently and ensure the long-term health of our business,” a Kroger spokesperson said in a statement.

There are currently 32 Kroger locations in the city of Houston and eight in Spring, according to the Kroger website.

These will not be the only Kroger stores to close in the greater Houston area over the past year. Former locations at 2300 Gessner and 9325 Katy Freeway closed in September and the only Kroger location in Dickinson closed in June after decades in the community.
