A 47-year-old man from Dallas died in a hit-and-run accident that prompted the closure of all northbound lanes of Dallas North Tollway in Plano early Tuesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety said Wednesday.

DPS troopers responded to a four-vehicle crash on Dallas North Tollway near Spring Creek Parkway at about 6:30 a.m., according to a news release from the agency.

Authorities said a preliminary investigation found that a driver traveling north in an 18-wheeler “made an unsafe lane change and struck a Honda Civic.” This caused the Honda to crash into the concrete wall and flip over.

Both a Ram 1500 truck and a Toyota Camry struck the Honda. The driver of the Honda — Juan Quiroz of Dallas — died at the scene, authorities said.
