Want to live like MLB hall-of-famer Craig Biggio? The Houston Astros legend is now selling his 1,682-acre Uvalde County ranch — about an hour’s drive from San Antonio — for just under $11 million, a recent $1.25 million price drop since he first listed it with Republic Ranches last year.

After owning the ranch for almost 20 years, Biggio listed the property in November 2024, asking for $12.1 million. Now, a well-heeled nature lover can snag it up at a cool $10.85 million.

According to Republic, most of the land is untouched South Texas brush with drought-resistant “bull mesquite,” live oaks, cedar elms, and a few cypress trees. The tract also includes a more than two-mile stretch of the Sabinal River on its eastern border.

The ranch includes several fire pits, a walk-in cooler, two implement barns, and a larger enclosed barn. The latter is attached to a three-bedroom, three-bath “barndominium” with a full kitchen and bunk room. While the interiors aren’t as lavish as Tony Parker’s $19.5 million Boerne estate, it does offer plenty of room to play catch.

Luxury digs or not, the main selling point is nature. During his management of the property, Biggio planted annual plants to attract quail, doves, and trophy-sized white-tailed deer. The land is a paradise for hunters.

“There’s a lot of baseball players that are big fishermen, big hunters,” he told Republic principal owner and partner Mark Matthews in an interview. “For me, this is my escape.”

“There’s so much pressure as baseball players,” he continued. “So much pressure for your team and your family, your fans. Getting an opportunity to come to a ranch and getting away for a little while is something that I truly treasure.”
