FORT WORTH – Nicolas Vega, 89, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 5, 2026. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Nicolas was born September 10, 1936, to Silvestre and Isabel Vega in San José de Nogalitos, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. He was a loving father and grandfather that loved to listen to his music everyday, especially to Vicente Fernandez and Grupo Flash. He also loved going fishing, riding ATVs at the ranch, drinking his Natural Light beer, as well as yelling at the players from the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys as he watched them on tv. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ofelia Vega; parents, Silvestre and Isabel Vega; son, Rolando Vega; daughter, Marisol Vega Hernandez; siblings, Jose, Albino, Alberto, Juanita, Isabel, and Kirina; and grandson, Daniel Vega. Survivors include: sons, Nicolas Jr., Jesse, and Homer Vega and wife, Letty; daughters, Isela Alfaro and husband, David, Ana Vasquez and husband, Rigoberto Jr., Hilda Sandoval and husband, David, Rosalinda Escobedo and husband, Ricardo, and Elisa Vega and husband, Mingo; grandchildren, Santiago, Bianca, David Jr., Victoria, Marco, Carlos, Melanie, Ian, K’Lee, MarcDavid, Marisol, Adrian, Gissel, Millie, Stephanie, Zoeey, Myra, Alyssa, Myriam, Denise, Homer Jr., Yesenia, Rolando Jr., Michael, Priscilla, Rolando, Stephanie, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Daniella, Emma, Angel, Ezekiel, Elliana, Mariana, Kamila, and Sophia; siblings, Silvestre and Maria Vega; as well as two special persons in Nicolas’s life, Bonbon and Teresa.
