What counts as a high-needs school or district?
High-needs schools are vibrant, diverse learning communities where your impact matters most. These schools often serve students from a wide range of cultural and economic backgrounds. They are designated by the state or district as needing additional support in areas like math and science instruction.
As a Noyce Scholar, you’ll have the opportunity to teach in classrooms where passionate, well-prepared STEM teachers can make a lasting difference. The UTSA Noyce team will work with you to identify partner districts and schools that match your interests and meet state “high-needs” criteria.
