A Fort Worth woman was found dead in her apartment after a suspected domestic violence incident, police say.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A woman was found dead in a Fort Worth apartment on Wednesday after a suspected domestic violence incident, police said. 

Officers responded to a welfare check around 11:43 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the 7300 block of Harris Parkway, the Fort Worth Police Department said in a press release. Police responded to the scene but did not find the woman who was the subject of the welfare check, the release states.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the apartment and found a deceased woman and evidence of a crime, the release states. 

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and will prepare an arrest warrant for a known male suspect, police said. Investigators believe the woman was killed in a domestic incident. 

No arrests have been made, and the victim was not immediately identified. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will determine the victim’s cause of death.Â
