After two more SEC wins, Texas volleyball remains No. 2 in the latest national poll conducted by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Longhorns (14-0, 6-0 SEC), who opened the season in the No. 5 spot in the AVCA poll, remained second only to Nebraska in Monday’s poll after picking up 1,468 points and four first-place votes. The top-ranked Cornhuskers (16-0) received 57 first-place votes and have 1,521 points from the AVCA voters, and Kentucky remained No. 3 with 1,393 points.

Nebraska and Texas are the only undefeated Division I teams in the nation.

Texas had its streak of seven consecutive sweeps snapped with a hard-fought 3-2 win Oct. 8 over Tennessee at Gregory Gymnasium behind a career night from Torrey Stafford. The Longhorns followed that with a 3-1 victory Sunday at Alabama.

The Longhorns return Friday to Gregory Gymnasium for a 6:30 p.m. home match against Arkansas.
