White House ballroom construction ‘ahead of schedule,’ Trump says

  • February 12, 2026

(CNN) – President Donald Trump gave an update Tuesday on the construction of his new White House ballroom.

In a social media post, the president said the project is progressing ahead of schedule and within budget.

He also shared two digital renderings of the project.

One of the images has never been seen before. It shows the structure head-on, with prominent columns and a grand staircase.

The second rendering is from the vantage point of the Treasury Department.

Trump wrote that when the ballroom is finished, it will be “the finest ballroom ever built anywhere in the world.”

The ballroom itself is set to be 22,000 square feet, with the total expansion roughly 89,000 square feet.

Trump’s most recent estimate for the ballroom was $400 million, which he said will be fully-funded by private donations.

Meanwhile, a federal judge has yet to decide whether the project can move forward without congressional approval. The judge is expected to rule in the coming weeks.
