A major pop culture convention is bringing the cast of Aliens and stars from film, anime, comics, and voice acting to Spring this March.
SPRING, Texas — A wide mix of film, television, voice-acting, comics, and cosplay stars is coming to the Houston area this spring as Pop Culture Con returns with a packed lineup of guests and events.
Organizers say the two-day event will feature the 40th reunion anniversary cast of “Aliens,” along with actors, voice performers, comic artists, and creators from across pop culture.
The convention is scheduled for March 14–15, at the Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwood Village.
Aliens cast reunion headlines the event
The entertainment lineup includes “Aliens” actors Michael Biehn, Mark Rolston, Jenette Goldstein, Ricco Ross, William Hope, Cynthia Scott, and Carl Toop.
Several of the “Aliens” cast members are also known for other iconic roles. Ross appears as the Ringmaster in “Doctor Who.” Hope is the voice of Thomas in “Thomas & Friends” and has voiced Thomas the Tank Engine across multiple series and video games. Rolston is the voice of Commissioner Gordon and appeared as Bogs Diamond in “The Shawshank Redemption,” along with roles in “Supernatural” and “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
Film, TV, anime, and voice-acting guests
Additional guests include Zach Galligan of the Gremlins series; Garret Sander, creator of Monster High; and voice actors Salli Saffioti, Dameon Clarke, Scott Innes, Vic Mignogna, and Chuck Huber.
Scott Innes is known as the voice of Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, and Scrappy-Doo. Dameon Clarke has voiced characters in the Dragon Ball series and appeared in shows including 24 and Castle.
Also appearing are voice actors Meredith McCoy, John Burgmeier, and Dale Kelly.
Comic creators and artists
Comic book guests include Mark Bagley, Sam de la Rosa, Renee Witterstaetter, Pop Mhan, Bill Williams, David Roman, and Dirk Strangely.
What to expect
Pop Culture Con is described as a family-friendly, two-day event featuring celebrity Q&A panels, autograph and photo opportunities, a cosplay contest with cash prizes, and a vendor hall for collectors and fans.
Organizers say applications are open for exhibitors, volunteers, and sponsorships.
