AUSTIN, Texas — A pedestrian was killed in a crash involving a vehicle early Tuesday morning on the 10400 block of S IH-35 southbound, according to Austin Police.

The incident occurred at 3:55 a.m. on February 10, 2026. The pedestrian, identified as 45-year-old David Rodriguez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved remained on site, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigation, stated the Austin Police Department.

This marks Austin’s 10th fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 10 fatalities. On the same date in 2025, there were five fatal crashes with five deaths.
