AUSTIN, Texas — The City of Austin has received recognition from The Best Place for Working Parents network for being among the best cities for working parents in the nation for the eighth year straight.

Since 2019, Austin has been received the recognition for meeting the criteria for the best environment for working parents. According to the news release, the network notes the best benefits as such:

Flexible, remote, and hybrid work options
Paid time off and family-friendly leave policies
Child care assistance
Youth camp scholarships

City of Austin Human Resources Director Susan Sinz said she was thankful for the award and appreciated that the city has been able to support working parents consistently over the years.

“The City of Austin is honored to be recognized for the eighth year in a row for its efforts to support our employees, both in their professional and personal lives,” Sinz said. “This designation confirms that our focus on flexibility and family-friendly policies is creating a supportive environment where our working parents can excel.”

Texas has the most regions within the Best Place for Working Parents network, including Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, Denton, El Paso and the Texas Panhandle. Other states recognized by the network include those in the west coast, northeast and the deep south.
